When you think of Audi, you think luxury, sporty drive and desirability. But what Audi model would you like in your garage? Most people seem to prefer the Audi A4, and it happens to be the world’s most searched Audi. Following closely behind is the A3, the world’s second most searched Audi, and this is the focus of the infographic.
It attracts 3,435,740 searches per month.
Where do Audi fans searching for the A3 come from? My research indicates that Germans are performing the highest internet searches on the car, followed by the United Kingdom, France, Italy and the United States. Of the five, three – USA, France and Italy – are among the world’s top ten car-owning countries.
84% of all searches related to the A3 are for the hatchback, while the Sportback and sedan versions make up 5% and 2.1% of searches respectively.
- Those who are looking up the A3 hatchback are particularly interested in the 8L, which was produced between 1996 and 2003, or the 8P, produced between 2003 and 2013. So, it appears as if people may be conducting research on used A3 cars. Searches also include the A3 cabriolet/convertible and the S line trim, which sits on top the A3 range. Users also check out reviews of the A3 hatchback.
- As far as the Sportback is concerned, people seem interested in the convertible body style and the plug-in hybrid electric e-tron. Other topics include the weight of the Sportback as well as its dimensions and luggage capacity.
- The price, size, wheelbase, horsepower and features of the A3 sedan are most searched by users.
The A3 won the World Car of the Year title in 2014. It is one of the German automaker’s best-selling cars worldwide and the world’s second most popular luxury vehicle. Starting at just over $30,000, the car comes with a 220hp/258Nm 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It has a top speed of 250km/h, and a fuel economy of 31-mpg for city driving and 43-mpg for highway jaunts
